Our Story

The journey began in 2017 when we founded the "Blockchain for Science" think tank, recognizing the transformative potential of blockchain technology for scientific research. Through organizing BFS Con in 2018 and 2019, we brought together researchers, technologists, and visionaries to explore this new frontier.

After years of building the DeSci ecosystem, we realized that for DeSci to truly succeed, we need common standards and best practices. This led to the creation of DeSciCommons - a community-driven initiative to define how decentralized science should operate.

Our vision is clear: create a scientific ecosystem that prioritizes quality research, open collaboration, and equitable access to resources. By establishing the DeSciCommons, we're laying the foundation for a new era of scientific discovery.
